How you will make an impact
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Customer Platform team, you’ll own and evolve the systems that define how users interact with Epidemic Sound — including account management and entitlements across both individual creators and enterprise customers. We’re the system of record for account structures and what users are entitled to, ensuring the right experience reaches the right person, whether it's a solo artist or a global creative team.
This foundational work enables us to deliver flexible, scalable experiences and underpins many of our commercial and product initiatives. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact platform with visibility across the organization — shaping how we deliver enterprise-quality features and scale our offerings.
We also foster a strong engineering culture grounded in openness and collaboration. You will regularly engage in pair and mob programming, as well as dedicated hack weeks for experimentation and learning. Your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services primarily in Golang on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Champion technical excellence from system design and architecture through development, deployment, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers to deliver seamless React/Next.js-based interfaces for managing accounts.
- Partner closely with enterprise, commercial, and product teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and shape the product roadmap.
- Clearly communicate technical plans, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Our Tech stack:
We’re evolving our platform toward modern backend technologies, primarily using:
- Golang (our core backend language)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Kubernetes and Docker
- GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD
- Grafana for monitoring and observability
- Event-driven architecture, microservices, and React/Next.js for frontend interfaces
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend systems
- Proven experience in at least one backend language, such as Java, Node.js, Kotlin or Go, which demonstrates your ability to build and maintain mission-critical systems
- Strong grasp of distributed systems and system design principles
- Experience operating in cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS also welcome)
- Experience working with modern CI/CD pipelines
- Willingness to work with Golang as we evolve in that direction
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
