The role

Acquired by Epidemic Sound in 2022, Overtone Studios work with musicians to create bespoke music that soundtrack people’s lives. Our catalog of +25.000 tracks is growing fast and we’re now looking for a Publishing Administration Manager to facilitate the administration of Overtone Studios’ Publishing catalog.
As a Publishing Administration Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our catalog of music is accurately registered with all relevant rights organizations, including collecting societies. This includes verifying that all metadata and ownership splits are correctly recorded to ensure proper royalty distribution.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Registering compositions with relevant databases and Collective Management Organisations in a timely manner
- Manage metadata imports/exports with partners
- Ensuring splits and metadata is correct for each composition
- React to and coordinate troubleshooting of ad-hoc glitches, queries, and admin requests pertaining to Overtone's Publishing catalog
- Manage Collective Management Organisations relationships and work to resolve any potential issues that may arise
- Work closely with our songwriters and clients to ensure we have correct data for work registrations and provide support and service as needed
- Monitor and analyse performance and royalty reports and provide insights on market trends
- Assist in resolving any rights disputes or issues relating to song ownership or royalties
About you:
You have a proven track record of at least 2 years working within the music and creative industries in a similar role, preferably with experience working with publishing admin systems.
- Strong knowledge about copyright in the music publishing industry
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with ability to initiate and drive improvements
- Knowledge of publishing copyright administration systems
- Strong analytical and technical skills, and knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience in working with mood music is a plus
- Fluent in English
