As a Rights Manager you will play a crucial role in the Music Department. Your role will be to operationally owning and executing all rights management administration tasks such as (but not limited to):
- Ensuring timely communication via email, Slack, and other communication channels
- Sending and countersigning various types of agreements
- Creating and managing new track projects in internal tools
- Setting up groups and projects in the music intake tools as well as tracing and correcting faults
- Monitoring and approving invoices
- Handling and safeguarding confidential and proprietary information
Job Summary:
- Securing confirmation of non-affiliation with collective management organizations (PROs and NROs)
- Sending and countersigning agreements
- Linking contributors and track projects to internal tools
- Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the Pod, Music Recruitment, Music & Artist Strategy
- Signing and onboarding new artists
- Approving invoices and answering financial questions
- Being able to communicate Epidemic Sound’s rights structure, business model, and music license to artists and third parties
- Contributing to the team OKRs to ensure initiatives are met and achieved
- Staying up to date with trends and practices within the field
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred (or equivalent business experience)
- Experience in music publishing and/or at a record label is an advantage
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Google Workspace; knowledge of Airtable, Medius, Miro or Confluence is a plus
- General understanding of the music industry, copyright and music rights administration
- Native English speaker. Knowledge of Spanish, Japanese or Korean is an advantage
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills coupled with the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records and work efficiently and independently
- High level of attention to detail is a must
- Highly structured, motivated, responsive and trustworthy
- Collaborative and friendly with ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- General understanding of the music industry, copyright and music rights administration
Compensation:
This is a full-time, hybrid position, based in New York City. This position has a base compensation span of $80,000 - $100,000 yearly dependent upon experience.
