The role
As an A&R, you will be responsible for discovering and developing new talent. You will work closely with our marketing and creative teams to identify and sign artists with the potential to be breakout stars. You will also be responsible for managing and developing the careers of our existing artists, providing them with the support they need to reach their full potential.
This is a fixed-term employment contract for approximately one year.
Your key responsibilities include:
Evaluate and recommend new talent to Epidemic Sound - from scouting to signing
Provide creative input and direction on artists material and recording career
Plan budgets for assigned projects keeping within scheduled timeline
Oversee the recording, production, mixing & mastering of artist songs/projects, review and provide feedback
Act as liaison for assigned artists - plan upcoming releases or/and creative vision
Work closely with internal departments including Marketing, Rights Management, Music Development, Artist Engagement, DSP Partnerships to name a few
Responsibility for all contributor data being logged, make sure that tracks go through our system and other administrative tasks
Develop and maintain relationships within our industry, for instance with managers, attorneys, artists and producers
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in A&R at a music label, management company, or publisher
Demonstrated track record of discovering and developing new talent
Comfortable working full release cycle from recording to release
Ability to utilize your network of and close deals with musicians, artists, managers, influencers, and producers
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of giving musical feedback on songwriting, production, and mix
Strong musical and music production proficiencyComfortable working with market-leading DAWs
Familiar with administrative tools like Airtable, Protools, Google suit, Slack or the like
