We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us take our soundtracking innovation platform to the next level!

Job Summary

In the Soundtrack product area we are on a mission to revolutionize the soundtracking experience for content creators by providing them a creative, interactive and relevant product. As an engineer in our Smart Discover team you’ll play a vital role in building and shaping the core functionality of Epidemic Sound. Together with your team you will experiment with and work on key user flows such as searching for music or sound effects, exploring new sounds and ensuring the sound magically fits the user’s content.

In order to do this, we want an experienced engineer with a strong focus on backend development, software architecture and building high quality software systems to join our friendly and collaborative team.

We are agile, user focused and passionate about building a high quality product and, most importantly, we make sure to learn from each other and have a lot of fun on the way!

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely within the team and other product teams, machine learning, analytics, user research and experience design to develop new amazing features that our users love.

• Act as an architect, taking ownership of complex technical projects, including planning, cross-team collaboration, and impact evaluation.

• Mentor and coach team members, foster an inclusive and collaborative culture.

• Embrace agile development processes, including pair and mob programming, and share knowledge inside and outside of the team, participate in hack weeks and demos.
  
  

Requirements:

• Solid backend focused experience with Go (or another backend programming language such as Kotlin or Java etc).

• Experience with Docker, automated testing and relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Extensive knowledge of software architecture, API design and development within a microservices architecture.

• Experience of building and optimizing search services.

• Experience of leading a team’s continuous work towards a common technical vision, as well as how to build scalable, reliable and easy-to-maintain software

• Great communication skills and drive to collaborate closely with colleagues.

• A flexible mindset as a curious learner and big-picture tech thinker.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications/ Bonus Skills:

• Some experience in frontend development, we use React and Typescript.

• Experience with Elasticsearch.

• Experience with GCP and Kubernetes.
