As A&R Lead, you'll be a vital part of our global A&R team, leading and mentoring A&Rs to ensure the team's efficiency and success. You'll provide strategic insights and feedback to help direct the team and contribute to the company's continuous growth. You'll also foster a high-performance culture and work closely with your team, the Head of A&R, and other stakeholders across the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 A&Rs, fostering growth and success.
- Provide updates on team performance, workflows, and processes to the Head of A&R.
- Host regular one-on-ones and team meetings to align goals and share feedback.
- Shape roster direction from early artist development to final production.
- Use your network of artists, producers, managers, and attorneys to attract top talent.
- Guide artists through every stage of their creative journey, from songwriting to studio sessions.
- Contribute to wider A&R strategies by identifying opportunities and improving team structures.
- Responsibilities for managers include acting as an ambassador and in line with Epidemic values and leadership behaviors, leading individuals and teams, hiring, performance, and salary conversations. Read Responsibilities for Managers here
- Contribute to team OKRs to ensure initiatives, processes, and programs are achieved
- Stay up to date with trends and best practices within the field Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities may be assigned at any time
Requirements
- Proven track record of managing a creative team: You can guide, mentor, and inspire a team to achieve its full potential.
- Strong communication skills: You deliver clear and effective communication and are responsible for understanding others.
- Strong administrative skills: You are highly organized and capable of managing team processes and workflows efficiently.
- A strong network within the music industry: You are able to leverage your connections to attract new talent and advance artists' careers.
- Strong musical proficiency: You have a deep understanding of music and industry trends.
- Experience in artist development, talent scouting, and identifying emerging artists.
- Experience acting as a leader for individuals and teams, including hiring, performance management, and salary conversations.
This is a full-time, hybrid position, based in New York City. This position has a base compensation span of $110,000 - $138,000 yearly dependent upon experience.
