The role
As a Visual Design Lead at Epidemic Sound, you will be at the forefront of shaping the visual and emotional expression of our digital products. You will be responsible for leading art direction, defining our visual identity, motion language, and elevating the brand experience across our user-facing platforms. This is a role for a master storyteller who is passionate about the interplay of interaction, visuals, content, and motion to create a lasting and exciting emotional impact on our users.
You'll report to VP Design and join our Experience Design team, a talented group of designers with a passion for creating the world’s best soundtracking platform for creators. You will collaborate closely with other designers, engineers, product managers, and brand and marketing teams, to ensure a cohesive and impactful end-to-end user journey.
Your key responsibilities include:
Elevate product quality by delivering visually compelling, emotionally resonant design solutions, integrating layout, visual language, and motion to enhance engagement.
Translate complex concepts into intuitive, cohesive, and high-impact user interfaces, using motion, interaction and visual design to guide attention and improve usability.
Lead the development of visual and motion systems to ensure consistency, scalability, and a refined user experience across platforms.
Mentor and support designers across teams, fostering excellence in visual, interaction, and motion design craft.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, tech, brand and marketing teams to influence and shape the end-to-end experience with a strong point of view on how it should look, feel, and move.
Requirements
A strong portfolio of innovative and emotionally resonant work, demonstrating your leadership in shaping acclaimed digital products and brand experiences.
Proven expertise in translating high-level strategy into compelling art direction, and a track record of developing scalable visual and motion design systems.
In-house, cross-functional experience—proven collaboration with engineering, product, and brand partners.
Mastery of the modern design toolset, with a particular fluency for prototyping, visual, and motion design.
Soft requirements
A true collaborator and natural influencer, with a gift for building consensus and inspiring designer peers, teams and stakeholders around a shared creative vision.
Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, able to articulate the 'why' behind your design decisions to everyone from junior designers to executive leaders.
A deep-seated passion for mentoring, with a genuine desire to elevate the craft, creativity, and confidence of the designers you work with.
A balance of strong creative conviction and an empathetic, humble approach, welcoming diverse perspectives to strengthen your design solutions.
